Janey's Filipino Birthday Party
We cooked chicken adobo, pork sinigang, beef kare-kare, pancit, steamed fish with lots of roasted garlic and grilled beef! Yummy!
Then swimming after ng lafang...
All Filipinos:
Joey and Jane, Nap, Richard, Alynn and Chris
Di nga ako marunong mag-swim eh. Stop!
Smile underwater with Richard's waterproof Olympus Camera
Inside the condo for Janey's birthday cake. We forgot to buy candles though. This is one weird picture --- I have no idea what were we thinking and doing?!
Happy 37th(?) birthday Janey!

More of Arvin and Me
Always so little time... non-stop chikahan ever. Missed him soooo much! I tried my best to bring him to my favorite places though...
Dinner at Indus Cafe... I'm not really fond Indian food, but I had a 1,000baht gift voucher I got from one of my networking events. Hahaha.
Dessert at Coffee Bean by Dao. The best cakes in town, I know... I'm supposed to be on a diet. But I only had a few bites! Promise!
Partying at Met Bar. Umeksena kami ng over dancing to retro 70s 80s and 90s. Saya!
Thai dinner for Arvin's last night in Bangkok at Ana's Cafe
Arvin partying among tourists at Bed Supperclub
Relaxing after vodka...
Hope to see you again here in Bangkok my dearest Arvin (aka Ms. Avon Lady)

Arvin in Bangkok =)
Oh, finally!
Thank God Kris is here for several days to work on a post production.
Here we are at Orange Cafe Siam Paragon for dinner
And dessert at the creamiest ice cream on earth at Cream & Fudge Factory (FYI, I only had ONE TEASPOON of Kris' cheesecake ice cream, only because they forced me!)
After dinner drinks at Sirocco
Classic Margarita, Strawberry Daquiri and Apple Shake.
With the cocktails they're holding, who would have guessed that they're not gays? hahaha.
P.S.
Arvin suggested that I should not post pictures until December... so that people will be shocked with my weight loss. So this is probably one of the final posts with pictures (or maybe not... I may still want to post pictures over the weekend since I'm taking Arvin and Kris to Met Bar and Bed Supperclub)

Paris in Bangkok?
hahaha!
Well, that's the name of the big ferris wheel at Suan Lum Night Bazaar.
My friends and I just finished dinner around 9pm at Vanilla Industry in Siam Paragon and decided to stop by and kill some time since it was too early to be at Met Bar.
60 meters above the ground with the Bangkok traffic along Witthayu Road
I forgot to bring my camera. And Ann's camera ran out of battery. Grrrr....

2 years in Bangkok
Two questions are on top of my head now:
What have I become? And where is 'home'?
When I 'visited' the Philippines last May, I somehow felt that I was an alien in my own country. My family and friends were all busy with their lives, their work and current close friends. And unfortunately, I didn't seem to fit there anymore. Not that I blame them, this is just me trying to figure out how things really are... I totally understand that they're busy and that life goes on without me. And I also understand that the longer I stay here, the harder it is for me to actually reconnect with them despite the magic of technology. The usual warmth is just not there.
The thing is, when I'm in the Philippines, I feel that I fit so much better in Thailand. But when I'm here, I still can't help feel out of place since I still don't speak or understand the language completely.
It's like my home is neither here nor there. So where is it???
After living outside my homeland for two years, I have a feeling that I can't really go 'home' again - simply because it's not what it used to be anymore.
Oddly, I am not really bothered; maybe I am but just a little bit.
Of course I will forever love my family and friends in the Philippines. But I've come to realize that my relationships now consists of people like me - 'internationalists' - according to my American friend. We hold various passports, display different skin tones, and speak numerous languages in even more numerous accents. But our acceptance of our differences are what draws us closer together --- and the biggest similarity is that we're all outsiders.
I am now a lot like the people who are different from me, and quite different from the people who are like me.
More than two years ago, I never imagined I will be in this position.
Now I can't imagine going back to the way the things were.

Ton's Wedding
In the office, when we talk about drinking - Ton's name is definitely on top of the list. He taught me along with Gig and Palm to drink whisky... and eventually love it.
And so what else is there to expect for this wedding party?!
It was just a cocktail affair at the Hotel InterContinental Grand Ballroom since the guests didn't really care much about the food. We were there to drink! Plus more drinking at the "party after-party" function room.
[of course we have a lot of pictures]
This is me, not yet drunk...
My hi-so and lonely friends Ann and Wave
With real hi-so.. Gig and Keiy with Gig's BF at the back
Ben [brokenhearted and drunk because of my Swedish friend Thomas] and Mamu Janey, my Filipina officemate who also got married last December.
My current toy boy (or boy toy... whatever you want to call it)
The past...
Goofing around with the groom
The bride (drank Absolut from the bottle) and the groom (drank Black Label from the bottle as well) dancing on top of a coffee table
Ann was being a good girl distributing cold water to all the drunk people
And so there...
This is me with Ben in the background really drunk
