Another Wedding...
Bitter?! hahaha! Always a bride's maid (or a guest for this instance), and never a bride...

Here are some pictures from Mod's wedding (my officemate). Unlike the normal weddings that we've attended, this is just a wedding party... no ceremonies. Apparently, the ceremony is normally done in private with the couple's family and that's it, the party comes a week or a few days after.

By the way, yes... I am wearing the same tube top during the McCann Christmas party... I didn't have time to have a new outfit made... notice that everyone is all made-up. Even regular guests, when they attend the wedding may effort talaga to dress for it, complete with hair and make-up.

Koh Kood
We went on a company outing last Jan16-18. It was so much fun... the right combination of seminars, group activities, eating and a whole lot of drinking (as always, I got drunk each night and did a whole lot more! hahaha! and I'm not telling what, but at least there are no awful pics this time!)

Koh Kood is one of the islands that was not affected by the tsunami. Thank God! (But honestly, I still prefer Boracay and Galera)

Caste System in Modern Times...
This post was inspired by my friend, Nathan. Thanks for the status message: "MUST READ BOOK: The Importance of the Caste System in Modern Day Times by Lara Girl". Okay, first let me clarify... I don't have a book. Hahaha! I wish! But today, the importance of keeping the "social classes" came right out while we were talking in YM.

Okay, let me give you some review in history.

The Indian Caste System has been in use for many years. Still today, the values of the caste system are held strongly amongst us... of course we don't call it the same names anymore.

  • Brahman - priest
  • Kshatriya - ruler, warrior, landowner
  • Vaishya - merchants
  • Shudra - artisans, agriculturalists
  • Harijan - "outside" the caste system/"untouchables"

In the past, people are born and stay until they die in their own caste. But of course, that is not true to our society anymore. One can be born from the lowest caste and grow up to be on top through proper education, friends, connections, attitude etc. Or it could also be the other way around. And mind you, we are not simply talking about money here. It's the way you live your life.

Social classes has kept a sense of order. We all have our own place and accept that it is the way to keep society from disintegrating to chaos. This system has worked well for Indian people... and whether you want to admit it, it's working for us now.

So you ask me... what is the point of going through this? Well, it's like this... just recently I have this close friend who I paired up with an old classmate from years ago. We all went to the same school together, but we were not really in the same circle... or should I say... in the same "caste" as the guy. While playing matchmaker, I did not realize though, that I should have considered that this guy is "different" from us, and may therefore cause unavoidable setbacks.

Don't get me wrong... I am not being a snob here.

I just want to point out that we all live our lives differently. We have our own reasons for being. And one cannot blame the other if a "mix" does not work out. Like it our not, social classes... caste system... A-lists or whatever you may call it will forever exist. This is not just a matter of being higher or lower. But more importantly, it is about UNDERSTANDING the differences and ACCEPTING (or rejecting) it along the way.

Well, we all saw it coming... but we can always just hope for the best. (Nag-break din agad sila okay?! mga chismoso at chismosa! kilala nyo ba yung sinasabi ko?!) Fiction lang 'to! Echos! Hahahaha!

My "Vacation"
How odd... but reality is, I will just have vacations in the Philippines... maximum 2weeks if my schedule permits! How long can I stand it? Well, gaya nga ng sabi ni Ara Mina [a local actress], "you can never can tell". Hahaha!

My stay was a blast! Although too bad for me, I wasn't able to go to Bora or Galera. There wasn't enough time, I swear! And I didn't even get to see some of my friends. Gosh.

Iba talaga pag-kasama ang barkada. Ang saya... puro chika! Kung pwede lang forever ako dun!

By the way, sorry that this post is totally dull. My brain is still not functioning properly from the vacation, maybe because of too much vodkas...
