Momentum Party
I was so sick after the Thais left, but I had to go to a party arranged for current and ex-Momentum people. We've been planning it since I was still in Thailand with a very long email trail, kaya dapat lang eh matuloy sha diba?
Ang mga Kagandahan:
Karen - Ms. Yes Magazine
Rudy - Mr. SM
Arvin - ang dakilang freelancer na kung minsan ay Ms. SM din
And oh, ang highlight for this occasion eh binati ko na si Hans! Ito ay in the spirit of Christmas, gusto ko puro positive energies.
Finally! It's their last day...
Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed entertaining them. But somehow, you can't blame me if I feel really tired and wishing that I was spending time with my family and Filipino friends instead. I mean, that's the whole point of going on vacation right? To get-away from the stressful work environment and that includes the people you work with!
Oh well, after shopping at Glorietta and buying a lot of cigarettes... I finally said good bye to them! And so now, here I am at home and very sick! Being out all day and all night and drunk most of the time... now I have to pay the price. Huhuhu...
Field Trip
Seriously.
As per request, I had to bring them to 'traditional' landmarks in the Philippines... meaning: Luneta, Intramuros, Fort Santiago at kung ano-ano pa! I was fucking tired! And oh, if not for them I probably would not have gone to Baywalk ever. It was my first time there, and in fairness it wasn't that bad. Malinis naman sha, but still not my kind of place na pupuntahan ko for gimik.
Picture, pictures!
And oh my gosh! After the field trip, we actually went to Hobbit House in Malate! Hahahaha! Well, feel kasi sha puntahan nung Canadian boss ko. I was shocked to see that the place was actually filled with foreigners enjoying the music (country!)
And then, I brought them to O Bar in Nakpil - it's owned by a former-colleague in McCann, Peter. My friend Nathan and Carlo joined me in entertaining the Thais =) They even danced with my Thai officemates and my boss - all of whom are totally drunk and wasted. Hahaha! We definitely made a scene!
We ended the night dancing the Embassy (is that how it's spelled or is it Mbassy? whatever...) at the Fort with Wave, Jojoe, Nathan and Carlo.
Absolutely tiring, but it was all worth it.
Two Weddings!
Here are the pictures =)
EJ'S WEDDING
Me, Bootsie and Fed.
We are Ej's ex-officemates at Adformatix.
JANEY'S WEDDING
We have a lot more pictures, but I'm to lazy to upload. LOL. Our group was so colorful that day - we really stood out from all the guests! Ann in PINK, Gin in MAROON, Ben in ROYAL BLUE, Hui in BLUE GREEN, Gig in ORANGE (she's one of the bridesmaids) and me in RED. All pretty and dolled-up!
After the wedding some of the Thais and I went to the Casino Filipino in the old Dutry Free Building. Unfortunately, I lost =(. But Ton and Ben were big winners. Hey, they should treat us!
I'm a Hostess
The Thais arrived today.
Well, there's really nothing much to do since it's a Monday. We just had dinner at Masas in Greenbelt 3 and had a few drinks at the lobby of Dusit where they are staying.
Tomorrow will be a loooooong day. It will definitely be tiring!
Merry Christmas!
I love the holidays!
I'm Back!
Ok, now this is what I call cheating.
It's February 1, but I am publishing this as December 24. hahahaha! Let's just pretend ok? Ride along with me as I go back in time... (as if it was the present day, and hopefully I can catch up with regular blogging!)
--------
What a great day! Can you believe that I woke up very early today because my dear Bianca just had to poke her fingers on my face. How cute! Well, I didn't get much sleep... but how can someone get upset?! Its a great day with a cute little girl to wake me up... plus it is Christmas Eve =)
Last night, as soon as I arrived I went to Glorietta and had dinner at Friday's with Nathan and his friend Ana. I've been reading her blog for a long time and it's great to finally meet her. Super kikay and pretty din =) Oh, the three of us were just fab. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures. sheesh.
This is officially my first whole day in the Philippines. Hmmm... I wonder what should I be doing... think... think... think... OH I KNOW! SHOPPING!

Before I leave...
A pre-Christmas present....yummy boys!
Blurred ang pics. I think nanginginig sa sarap ang officemate ko.
Ayan... nakalma na ang laman nya. Di na malabo.
Mas masarap pa sila sa product samples na pinamimigay.
Feeling serious, pero di ko kaya. I can't help but smile.
At ang laki ng... kamay nila.
Tagalog - Thai Translation
It's 4 days to go before I go home. Yipee!!!
And 7 days before 11 of my Thai colleagues arrive in Manila too for Janey's wedding. I'm really looking forward to introduce my barkadas to my adorable Thai friends. In fairness, they all speak English... so magkakaintindihan naman tayo...
And oh, I was reading the Nation last week and saw this article. A teaser of what to expect...
ALL THE BREAST, FROM THAILAND
Picking up a foreign language is never easy, and inevitable people who are away from home make mistakes when they try to speak like the locals, even when they try to say something they think is funny. At the Rizal Memorial Track and Field Stadium in Manila during the recent SEA Games, a group of young Thai fans waved Thai flags, sang and danced in the venue: "soo, soo (meaning fight, fight), Thailand! soo soo!", they shouted out loud when the men's 100m final kicked off.
As the Thai fans continued to shout the words "soo soo", the Filipinos in the stadium looked at them and started laughing. A Thai reporter wanted to know why the locals were laughing and asked one of the Filipinos. When they told him what was so funny, he also started laughing. "Soo soo" in the local language means "breast, breast". It seams the Thais were shouting "nom, nom" in Thai. The Filipinos sitting near the Thai fans were laughing well after the end of the 100m final.
Nakakatawa right? Sana wag naman mangyari ang eksenang ito pagdating nila. (ATTENTION to my ever-mapanglait friends)
Super na-embrace ko na ang Thai culture eh.. kahit di ko pa rin sila naiintindihan. I have learned to love them. Hindi na ko natatawa kahit na minsan I come across names such as Kapon and Supot. Normal na lang ang dating nya.
Sana tulungan ako ng friends ko to entertain my visitors, kasi marami sila...

10 Days to Go Before Christmas Eve
Santa, Can You Hear Me?
Ooh yeah
Last night I took a walk in the snow
Couples holding hands - places to go
Seems like everyone but me is in love
Santa, can you hear me ?
I sent my letter that I sealed with a kiss
I send it off and just said this
I know exactly what I want this year
Santa, can you hear me ?
I want my baby, baby
I want someone to love me someone to hold
Maybe, Maybe
Be all my own in a big red bow
Chorus:
Santa, can you hear me ?
I have been so good this year (maybe not really. LOL)
And all I want is one thing
Tell me my true love is here
He's all I want just for me
Underneath my Christmas tree
I'll be waiting here
Santa that's MY only wish this year.
Christmas Eve - I just can't sleep
Will i be wrong just taking a peek?
Cause that I heard that your coming to town
Santa, can you hear me ?
I really hope your on your way
With Something special for me in your sleigh
Ooh please make my wish come true
Santa, can you hear me ?
I want my baby, baby
I want someone to love me
Someone to hold
Maybe, Maybe
We'll be all alone under the mistletoe
[Repeat Chorus]
I hope my letter reaches you in time
woooo yeah
Bring me a love that I can call all mine
Cause I have been so good this year
Can't be alone under the mistletoe
All i want in a big red bow
[Repeat Chorus]
Janey's Pre-Wedding Party
Well, initially I was thinking of throwing a bridal shower for her. Unfortunately, super loaded with work! Hehehe... so si Janey na ang nag-initiate ng sarili nyang party. Thanks girl!
There's not much story to tell, except we ate and of course got drunk.
Here are the pictures (habang hindi pa kami lasing...)
Ayan napapa-cute na naman ako...
wishing na naman ng true love (inggit sa ikakasal!)
Hala... sige! Lafang na lang crispy pata...

Well, unfortunately wala ni isa sa kanila. Isang may-asawa, isang bading at isang di mawari. I will not say which one is who...
The Best for Shopaholics
Bangkok.
Everywhere you go and whatever time of the day, there's always something interesting to buy.
From expensive & elegant to cheap & chic, Bangkok has everything for shopaholics like me (?) Great bargains everywhere, all-year round... it's just a matter of knowing where and when =)
Just this coming weekend, I plan to go to 3 shopping trade fairs:
- Thailand's Best @ Queen Sirikit Convention Center
- Made in Thailand @ IMPACT Muang Thong Thani
- Export Mart Grand Sale @ Department of Export Promotion
Not to mention the regular shopping centers I go to every weekend! If I feel shala and hi-so (which is most of the time... hahahaha!) I normally go to Emporium or Central Chidlom. Pag wala lang, pwede na rin at the Mall Bangkapi (less than 10min cab ride from my place).
If I feel really cheap and want to get the best bargains... there's always a 'talat nat' near the office. Its the daily tiangge near office areas. Mega-cheap since it's for Thais. And there are hundreds of them around Bangkok.
Other popular shopping destinations are the night markets in Patpong/Silom area, Suan Lum Night Bazaar, Pratunam, and Chatuchak Weekend Market. Pero I'm not really fond of going there... siguro dahil hindi na nga ako tourista.
And speaking of shopping, today also marks the opening The Siam Paragon, they call it 'the pride of Bangkok'. I think it's the most shala of among all the malls in Asia. Super Designers everywhere. Actually, I'm on my way there now to attend a fashion show and cocktail party...
Meaningful Shopping
Is there such a thing? Well, yes. I didn't buy only for myself (which I normally do every single weekend!). I officially started my Christmas shopping =) for family and friends
I am so happy that I got most of the important stuff:
- EJ's wedding gift! (it's very unique I think... I hope she and TJ will like it)
- My dress for Jane and EJ's wedding. I had it made at this really chic shop called "My Mom Made" at Siam Square. It's popular here in Bangkok for formal, party clothes. A bit expensive, but I guess it's ok considering that I'll be using it for both weddings on the same date - December 27. Yes, I will be going from Manila Cathedral for EJ and then to the Bamboo Organ for Jane.
- Bootsie's gift (a Thai-inspired top)
- Alma's cream Pashmina. And I got one for myself too. It will be perfect with the brown dress I bought last June - can you believe that I haven't worn that since I bought it?!
- My cousin Ruby's gift (a Thai-inspired bag and some Thai silk scarves)
- My cousin Vera's gift (also the same as Ruby's bag but a different color)
- 6 gift packs of scented candle and incense for relaxation (for anyone... whoever!)
- 3 boxes of Doitung Macadamia Nuts Chocolate - grown and made at the northern part of Thailand (for anyone din... whoever. But I think my sister will eat it before I can even give it to anyone)
I have more shopping to go! A gift for my mom, dad, my sister Mae and her husband. Nabilan ko na si Ate Leah a month ago when I was shopping for myself, I managed to make singit 2 Naturalizer sandals for her. Sino pa ba? Hmmm.... I think I will just give money to all my inaanaks. I don't have time to think for individual gifts na.
I shall continue tomorrow (oh, that's later already).
Glutton's Wishlist
I'm copying Jeff and making my own list. Stuff I want to stuff myself with when I go home...
- Chicken Fingers with Honey Mustard Sauce, Ceasar's Salad, Fried Mozarella and Mud Pie from Friday's
- Suckao at Max Brenner - it's that hot dark choco drink in a special cup with metal straw and a candle underneath
- Crepes at Cafe Breton
- Javanilla at Seattle's Best
- Ice Monster
- Gonuts Donuts
- Sisig - kung saan man... Jerry's Grill, Crocodile Grill or whatever
- My mom's sinigang, dinuguan, kare-kare, binagoongang baboy and nilagang baka
- My dad's puchero, tinola and inihaw na bangus
- My sister's beef with mushroom and kung ano-ano pa
- Ate Olive's (my cousin) lasagna and carrot cake
- Goldilock's mocha cake (as in yung roll) although sobrang daming yummy cakes here...
- Burritos and quesadillas... texmex food is not really popular here
- Purefoods Tender Juicy Hotdogs for breakfast... although there are also a lot of good sausages here, parang I miss eating that red one.
- Also tocino and longanisa. With sinangag for breakfast
- Champorado with Alaska Evaporated Milk (kailangan Alaska?! well kinda... for Ate Shawie. Hahaha)
- Jollibee Spaghetti (although I ate a lot of this already when I went home last June)
- Buko Salad, Macaroni Salad, Buko Pandan at kung ano ano pang salad na very pinoy
- Leche Flan... they actually have something like it here, but I still prefer the pinoy version.
- Pancit Malabon
- Banana... as in saging. I haven't eaten a good banana in a long time (AS IN YUNG FRUIT OK?!) I keep on looking for it (FRUIT OK?! defensive...), but I can't seem to find one.
Authentic Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Mediterranean and French cuisines are far off better here... ay, ang takaw ko talaga. Gosh. Ang haba ng listahan ko!
I'm sure may nakalimutan pa ko ng lagay na yan...
